Back from Puerto Rico!

Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season! We had a blast in Puerto Rico (it’s really tropical)! We surfed, kyaked in the dark, and played on the beach! It’s very americanized – so it was a little like being in a tropical Florida or something! I got sick the last night with some kind of Puerto Rican stomach bug – so the plane ride back was rather challenging (Amy said I was like a zombie). But other than that we enjoyed soaking up our vitamin D!

Thanksgiving sandfest!

Well, we survived another Thanksgiving!!  It was super cold at the dunes, but the kids had a blast!!  They were all bundled up with long johns, hand warmers (which they loved), and coats!  We gathered around the campfire, told scary stories, and roasted marshmallows, so I think they logged some great memories!  No accidents to speak of, except Marc who tumbled off while attempting some sic stunts!  I had a blast cooking on the trailer stove for the first time (I had always used the microwave before).  Amy beat me twice at scrabble, and I reread Twilight (it was almost as good the second time).  That about sums it up for our holiday!  Hope you all had a great one, too!

Wow!

Thanks to everyone who commented on my new blog!  I am so happy that you want to hear about us!  We are excited about our upcoming Thanksgiving trip to the Little Sahara sand dunes!  Amy and Rusty, Amy J. and Andy, and the Morgans are joining us for a big dune Thanksgiving!  It’s weird that a place like that is here in Oklahoma.  Anyone interested should feel free to join us!  I’ll try to put some pictures up afterward.

Our fantastic hobby!

Just a word about our 4-wheeling hobby.  This involves the boys (all 5 of them) riding 4-wheelers, while I cover my eyes.  What you don’t see can’t make you scream.  I’ve proved this to be true.  The boys are all going stir-crazy since the season ended and can’t wait to race again.  Creed came in 4th place this season in the TQRA (Texhoma Quad Racing Association) in the 90cc stock class.  Tucker came in 5th place overall in the 50cc class.  Johnny came in 6th in the beginner dad’s class.  And, we got through the whole season with only one minor wreck during a race!  Creed flew off of his 4-wheeler during the first night race.  Fatigue and an ill-adjusted shock were the cause.  But, he hopped right back on without further ado and finished the race.  I, on the other hand, took quite a while to recover!

Dear me – I can’t believe I’m actually blogging!  For those of you who don’t know me – I’ve always made fun of blogging – as if there’s tons of people out there who want to listen to my ramblings!  But, I’ve decided to give it a try.  Shouldn’t make fun of anything unless you’ve tried it first – right??
